Thank you for all allowing me to ask a question. I was speaking
with someone today about whether or not I had visted their website
, I wasn't sure, they said I did, because they had a URL tracking
system on their website,. Is it possible for them to know that
I visited there this way ?.... I though that was just for website
addresses, not screen names......

I dont know exactly how the URL tracking software that was
being used works but there is a certain amount of information
that you can obtain from the logs of websites.
The logs will tell you amongst others thing - the IP address,
Operating System, Browser, Plugins and Referrer for the visitor
to the website.
So if the website owner(s) know your IP address then they maybe
able to tell if you visited there website. If the website owner(s)
knows your operating system, browser and only has a few visitors
then they maybe able to guess if it was you who visited the
site.
Some URL tracking software maybe a bit more advanced at looking
at Logs but basically there is certain information that website
owners can tell about their visitors.
