Well this depends on what your definition of a Web Portals is, my definition is a website that is designed to be web users first point for accessing the web - from this the user can begin searching, shopping, reading the news, checking webmail etc.

Web Portals were all the rage two or three years ago, however due to the amount of information on each page of the site sometimes pages can be slow to load on dial-up connections.
