Temporary Internet Files - can you please explain the differences between "Last Modified" "Last Accessed" and "Last Checked" ?

In the Temporary Internet Files, depending on your how you have set up your view options, you may see three dates headed "Last Modified", "Last Accessed" and "Last Checked".

The "Last Modified" date is when the file was last written to, this date will often be the date that the file was created or changed and then published on the website.

The "Last Accessed" date is when the file was last accessed by your browser.

The "Last Checked" date is the last time the browser checked to see if a newer version of the file was available - In Internet Explorer you can change the settings of when the browser checks for newer versions of files by selecting the Tools drop down menu followed by Internet Options - under the Settings option of the Temporary Internet Files is the option to change the settings for checking for newer versions of stored pages.
