How do I delete Addresses or Terms in the Search Box ?

General Disclaimer - Happy Online would like to remind all visitors that they are responsible for their own computer settings - some suggestions may not work on some computers and may result in errors - you should only make changes to your computer if you are comfortable with any consequences that may arise.

This can be achieved by individually selecting each search term so that it is highlighted and pressing the delete key. This can be a long process if you wish to delete multiple terms.

Alternatively you can set Internet Explorer so that it does not provide a list of previously entered search terms - To achieve this select the Tools drop down menu followed by Internet Options, next select the content tab of the Internet Options window and locate and click the autocomplete option. A sub window will appear that is headed AutoComplete Settings - ensure that the Forms option is unticked and OK this change - you may also note the option to clear forms, should you wish to just clear the search terms but keep autocomplete active choose this option.

It is worth noting for future reference that search boxes on search engines are just form fields - so if you ensure that the forms option in the autocomplete section is unticked you will no longer be presented with previously entered search terms.
