When I try to find something on a search site, I receive thousands of sites that have no relevance to what I'm looking for. Would you know if there are any online services where I can describe what I'm looking for and have them do the search for me and report back with the sites that have the product or info I need ?

Yes, unfortunately a lot of search engines sometimes struggle in returning relevant results - this is not always helped by the fact that there are plenty of people publishing web pages to recieve visitors - even though they may not have the answer to the search query.

As far as an alternative then unfortunately these seem limited - you could use the Google Answers service where you ask a question and an "Expert" returns the results - however this is a service that Google charge for.

It may be a good idea for someone to develop this service, especially if users are looking for products to purchase online - many web publishers make high commissions for sending visitors to sites that sell the end product - wherever this can be developed to provide a quick enough service that is better than what is already provided by search engines will be the deciding factor of whether anyone can develop this type of service.
