Navigation around a website is done by following Hyperlinks - more commonly known as Links.

Links basically connect one web page or web sites to another.

At first site it is not always possible to tell which part of the page is a web link. If the Link is text then often it is another colour from the main text or it is underlined - or when the text is pointed at the colour of the text changes.

However links are sometimes images, the only sure fire way of finding out if something is a link is to place your mouse pointer over the section of the page that you think maybe a link - if your mouse pointer changes to a hand it is a good bet that it is a link to another document.

Unfortunately, recent developments in web programming can mean that you are navigated to pages that you do not wish to view. These pages can appear when you enter websites, when you enter the website another window appears containing information, most of the time unwanted.

The reason behind these pages is normally for advertising purposes, you may of course find the information in this new window of interest.

It is also worth remembering that not every link is a link to another web page - the links agmonst other things can be to download information, send an email or close your current window.
