How Can I Moniter my Kids Online ?

General Disclaimer - Happy Online would like to remind all visitors that they are responsible for their own computer settings - some suggestions may not work on some computers and may result in errors - you should only make changes to your computer if you are comfortable with any consequences that may arise.

A good way to review what your children maybe viewing on the Internet is to look at the History folder. The History Folder will list previously visited websites by a set number of days. However it is relatively easy to clear websites from the History folder.

Other methods of monitering is by viewing the temporary internet files or looking at the terms be presented for autofill in the address bar or search engine search box.

However again it is relatively easy to clear temporary internet files and autofill data.

It is probably therefore more worthwhile to try and prevent access to certain sites rather than moniter and accuse. The Internet Options section which can be accessed from the Tools drop down menu at the top of the Internet Explorer window has some security settings however these are limited and can be changed unless you password protect the settings.

There is however a wide range of software that is designed to ensure that your Kids are safe while on the internet - to view a small selection of this range visit the "Safe Online" link on the above menu bar.
