What is a hyperlink ?

General Disclaimer - Happy Online would like to remind all visitors that they are responsible for their own computer settings - some suggestions may not work on some computers and may result in errors - you should only make changes to your computer if you are comfortable with any consequences that may arise.

A hyperlink is a piece of text or an image in a document where if you click on with your mouse button you are taken to another document or another part of the same document.

Hyperlinks are primarly used on the internet and provide the main form of navigation around the world wide web.

However, you may also come accross hyperlinks in other applications/programs such as word or excel documents.

You can normally tell if something is a hyperlink (or commonly abbreviated to link) as when your mouse cursor goes over the link text/image it will probably turn from a pointer into a hand.
