How do you get rid of an auto homepage site. I have done everything I can think of. Put the site in my restrictive zone.. changed homepage address back to the one i want... deleted cookies and temporary files. Yet the dang thing keeps coming back

Yes, unfortunately there are some people on the internet determined to hijack peoples home pages and present them with one of their own - which is normally not the type of home page that you really would like on your PC !

Most of these can be deleted by running Spybot - so first download and run Spybot and hopefully the files that have been placed on your PC that change your homepage will be detected and deleted - you may need to run Spybot a couple of times to fully delete all associated files. (Spybot is free software and you should be able to find a download site by down a search in your favorite search engine.)

Another common Home Page Hijacker is Coolwebsearch - similarly - doing a search in your favorite search engine will lead you to sites where you can download software that detects and deletes the files installed by Coolwebsearch.
