Usually I would use the internet options to delete the cookies, temporary files etc. but when i hit tools and then internet options, i get a window with security, privacy, content, connections and advanced tabs... I've no idea what to do! ?

General Disclaimer - Happy Online would like to remind all visitors that they are responsible for their own computer settings - some suggestions may not work on some computers and may result in errors - you should only make changes to your computer if you are comfortable with any consequences that may arise.

This would seem to be a problem with the Tools section of the Internet Options and we have had a few queries of this nature in the last few days.

If you are running Windows XP the displaying of Internet Options Tabs can be changed in the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel. If you locate the General Tab option the setting should be 0 or a number of 0s followed by 0 (check to see how the other Tabs are set) - if the General Tab is 1 (or a number of 0s followed by 1) then the Tab will not be displayed and by changing the value back to 0 the tab should be displayed.

(Note Extreme Caution should be taken when making amendments to the Registry and Happy Online are unable to accept any fault should mistakes be made or errors occur. The Registry can be accessed by selecting Start followed by Run and typing REGEDIT. It is recommended that you make a back up of the registry before making alterations)
