Why do I recieve a File not found - 404 Error on one of my bookmarks/favorites ?

When you recieve a web page that says File not found - 404 Error or something similar this is because the web page you are trying to access does not exist.

If the web page was previously one of your favorites or bookmarks then the most likely explanation for recieving this error is that the web page has been moved/deleted or changed its name.

The 404 error page can also be returned if you have typed in a web address incorrectly.

Website owners have a certain amount of control over the presentation of the 404 error page and some website owners choose to re-direct any visitor from a page that does not exist to the home page of their website.
