What does LOL, ROFL and Other Internet Abbreviations Mean ?

As you get more experienced using the Internet through the World Wide Web and Email you may come accross some Short-Type language that your are not familar with.

Dont panic - when you recieve an email that says LOL, ROFL or IMO - the person sending you the email is not speaking a foreign language they are just using some commonly used abbreviations.

The Abbreviations that you may come accross are most commonly used in Email and Chat Rooms. In fact when you first enter a Chat Room you may find some coversations hard to follow due to the high number of abbreviations used.

The following is a list of some of the Abbreviaitons that Happy Online are aware of - but this list is not comprehensive, new Abbreviations can be created every day by anyone on the Internet and they may take off and be used as commonly as some abbreviations in the below list:-

EZ - Easy

CWOT - Complete Waste Of Time

LOL - Laugh Out Loud.

ROFL - Rolling On the Floor Laughing.

ROFLMAO - Rolling on the Floor Laughing my a**e off.

IMO - In My Opinion.

IMHO - In My Humble Opinion.

BTW - By The Way

PMJI - Pardon Me for Jumping In

A/L - Age and Location

Y2K - Year 2000

AFAIK - As far as I Know

PPL - People

EOM - End Of Message

PAW - Parents are Watching

GSOH - Good Sense of Humour
