Norwich is a mix of new and old buildings. The most historic
area of Norwich is the area known as "Tombland"
near the Cathedral. Here you will find some examples of
fine Medieval buildings.
The Cathedral itself dates from shortly after the Norman
conquest with the Stones being imported from France. The
Cathedral Spire is the second tallest in England.
The shopping area of Norwich is vast, with traditional
shopping in Norwich Market (The largest open air market
in Europe) and the more modern type of shopping done in
the Castle Mall Shopping Centre and nearby streets and
avenues.
Norwich is one of the gateways to the Norfolk Broads.
The Norfolk Broads are a popular holiday destination for
those who are looking for a relaxing time.
Norwich is also a stopping place on the way to the Norfolk
Coastline which is home to Popular Holiday destinations
of Cromer, Sheringham, Gt Yarmouth and Hunstanton.
