All you have to do is decide what you want to watch using the Electronic Programme Guide. If you’re not going to be home: set the simple 3-step on-screen timer to record onto a DVD. Can’t find a blank one? No problem. You can record up to 455 hours of TV directly into the 160GB hard drive. Owners of Sony’s standard definition Handycam HDD camcorders will appreciate being able to transfer their footage directly to hard drive with no loss of quality. The clever RDR-HXD890B also supports incremental dubbing where only new camcorder footage that hasn’t already been copied onto the HDD is stored: so you don’t waste time when organising your video clips. There are 2 USB ports for connecting a PictBridge™ compatible printer: digital camera or other USB storage device. The x-Pict Story Slideshow Creator lets you create fun photo slideshows with transitions from your stored digital still images – you can even burn them to a DVD: like your camcorder footage: for sharing with all your friends and family. The HDMI output with 1080p upscaling maximises picture quality even on large screens: giving your standard definition DVDs a “makeover” when connected to compatible 1080p TVs. You’ll see detail in your favourite movies you probably hadn’t noticed before! And last but not least: if you’ve got a Sony TV: the BRAVIA Theatre Sync function automatically controls system components with one-click ease. It’s so easy.
