Shop Description: The Retro is based on an original: post war 1950s model. The durable: black resin barrel has a barley pattern and is finished with exquisite: hallmarked sterling silver details. It is presented in a plush: presentation box: making it the perfect gift. In 1822: the first ever propelling pencil was invented and patented by Sampson Mordan. The family-run business continued to develop its unique pencils: each carrying 12 spare leads inside the barrel: hence the name Yard-O-Led. Today the Yard-O-Led Company continues its traditions of craftsmanship and excellence inspired by designs of the 19th and 20th centuries. Their instruments are hand crafted and feature hallmarked sterling silver.
