This tough premium hardwood is both ecologically friendly and has the ability to absorb sound and vibration: enhancing the WaterRower's quietness and smoothness of use. The Club's woodwork is stained black to hide scuffing and signs of use: making this machine ideal machine for those looking to train intensively. The WaterRower has been designed as a natural rowing simulator and is unrivalled in replicating not only the superb physiological dynamics of rowing: but much of the aesthetic pleasure as well: giving the calming feel of a boat gliding down the river. The WaterRower's patented WaterFlywheel utilizes the same physical elements (water) and the same physical dynamics (fluid drag) as occur when a boat moves through water. The easy-to-read Series III LCD monitor allows you to set your heart rate zone manually or you can take advantage of a variety of built-in programs. Also stores 5 program settings for later recall. Partial self assembly required. Rowing is a seated aerobic pursuit suitable for all users. It removes all the body weight from the ankles: knees and hips: moving the limbs and joints through a full range of motion: from completely extended to completely contracted. Beneficial for the back and strong posture: it recruits the muscles of the torso in equal proportions to the other major muscle groups of the legs and arms.
